Early Life of Billy Horschel
Horschel was born on December 7, 1986, in Grant, Florida. He began his elementary education at Bayside High School in neighboring Palm Bay.
Horschel joined the University of Florida, Gainesville, accepting an athletic scholarship where he played for coach Buddy Alexander’s Florida Gators men’s golf team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition from 2006 to 2009.
In 2007, Horschel was named the SEC player of the year and a four-time All-American, including three first-team selections. He was a 2008 PING southeast all-region pick.
